Press conference on the occasion of anniversary of operation “Storm”

On the occasion of
marking the anniversary of liberation of Croatia’s occupied
territories and marking of the memory of killed Serbian
civilians, we
would like to, once again, remind of the facts established by
the
Hague tribunal’s trial chamber about the crimes committed during
and
in the aftermath of the military action ‘Storm’. For this
reason, we
would like to invite you to a press conference, which will be
held in
Human Rights House, on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 11am.

This press
conference
will give us a chance to, once again, bring to public attention
numerous crimes which have not yet been investigated and for
which
nobody has yet been punished, to express our solidarity with
victims’
families and to warn of a lack of compassion for victims from
other
ethnic communities.

At the conference,
Jelena Đokić Jović, war crimes trials monitor, and Eugen
Jakovčić, media coordinator, will present the most
important
parts of this year’s statement issued on the occasion of the
anniversary of killings of Serbian civilians during and in the
aftermath of military action ‘Storm’, which is this year again
jointly signed by Documenta – Centre for Dealing with
the
Past, Civic Committee for Human Rights and Centre for Peace,
Non-Violence and Human Rights Osijek.
