Srećko Lorger, a prominent Split writer, journalist and editor, left us. He was one of the prominent members of the Dalmatian Action who ended up in prison in the 1990s, in an attempt by the authorities to destroy the then popular regional party.

He was born in Dubrovnik, finished high school in Split, and then graduated in comparative literature and Slavic studies in Zagreb. After graduating, he started working at the Nakladni zavod Marko Marulić in Split, where he edited several libraries. He is the author of the still widely read book Dalmatinske riči. He was also the editor of the periodical Vidik and the newspaper Gdje, and he is the author of several books of poetry.
