Last respects to Valerij Jurešić (February 8, 1971 – February 3, 2022)

When we met in 2016, we at Documenta were preparing a summer school on the challenges of memorialization on Rab and a Volunteer Camp on Goli Otok. That summer, in the dim light of the hall of the Public Open University, you spoke wisely and with inspiration. Oliver Frljić, Siniša Labrović, the prematurely deceased Borka Pavićević and Marijan Crtalić, were surprised that someone who is the head of culture for the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, not only understands that all victims have the right to recognition of suffering but also promotes development and educational programs based on dealing with the past.
